Mr.
Dennis Crandall teaches
the math portion for Team Test Preparation. Mr.
Crandall handles the instruction regarding general test-taking strategies,
test structure and scoring, as well as the math section of the
test. Mr.
Crandall is currently the principal at Hanna Boys Center in Sonoma,
CA after a thirty year career at Cardinal Newman High School, a Catholic,
College Preparatory High School in Santa Rosa, CA. Mr. Crandall
served at Cardinal Newman in several capacities - math and science
teacher, chairman of the math and science departments, coach, athletic
director, development director, assistant principal and principal. He
taught both Advanced Placement Calculus and Physics courses where
his students had much success in posting a 3, 4 or 5 score on the
AP Exam, earning them college units at most universities.
Mr. Crandall
is a graduate of UC Davis with an Atmospheric Science major. He
received his Life Secondary Teaching Credential in physics and
mathematics from California State University Sacramento. He
received an M.A. degree in Educational Administration from St.
Mary's College in Moraga. Mr. Crandall has been awarded many
honors during his educational career and is well known for his
enthusiastic approach to life, especially his love of teaching
the wonderful subjects of mathematics and science.

Mr.
Joel Kammer teaches
the verbal portion for Team Test Preparation. Mr.
Kammer handles
preparing students for both verbal sections of the test: the
critical reading and writing sections. Mr.
Kammer teaches English at Maria Carrillo High School, and also
serves as department chair. In more than twenty-five
years of high school teaching in Santa Rosa, Mr. Kammer has
taught several subjects, including social science, art, humanities,
government, and English. He
has been department chair and taught honors or Advanced Placement
English classes at three local high schools, Cardinal Newman,
Piner and Maria Carrillo.
Mr. Kammer has
an M.A. in English from Wayne State University in Michigan, and
life California teaching credentials in English and social science. He
has been a mentor teacher for Santa Rosa City Schools and also
spent three years as a BTSA (Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment
program) support provider. As a National Endowment for the
Humanities fellow, he studied Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon,
England.
Mr. Kammer has
been a member of two National Faculties, the Four Seasons Project
for authentic assessment, and the Annenberg Institute's National
School Reform Faculty. He spent a year as a school change
consultant for the Coalition of Essential Schools, was one of the
first secondary teachers in Sonoma County to achieve National Board
certification, and has received recognition from various other
organizations, including being named 2003 Teacher of the Year for
Northern California by the California League of Secondary Schools. He
has also published several articles in state and national professional
journals, and short stories in local publications. |
